Education & Outreach
Welcome to our listing of Education & Outreach services available to the LGBTQ+ community.
The Stonewall Alliance Center plays a vital role in educating the general public about sexual
orientation and gender identity. We help reduce the stigma and discrimination experienced by
LGBTQ+ individuals. Our trainings for staff and volunteers of groups and agencies in the region
lead to improved services for our community members. Our speakers’ panels sit in classrooms
and conference rooms, sharing our experiences and answering questions.
Harlen Adams Memorial Library
The library has been reduced due to limited space. We have moved our main collection to our
warehouse and purchased new LGBTQ+ themed books relevant to youth and teens.
Panels of Remembrance
We invite you to commemorate the life of a loved one lost to AIDS by creating a fabric panel
memorializing that person. Our purpose is to create community awareness about AIDS, its reality
in our area, and the effect of the HIV disease on our families.
Speakers Bureau
Presenters or panels can attend your groups, events, classes, or trainings to educate
participants about sexual orientation, gender identity, cultural competency, and offer ways to
improve understanding and acceptance. Your organization will be better equipped to serve
users, educate students, and provide services to the community at large.
In addition to these avenues for education, Stonewall Alliance Center, Chico has groups to help
increase awareness and acceptance in the community.
