Pride

In efforts to strengthen and unite the LGBT*QI+ community and allies, each year Stonewall puts together the annual Chico Pride Weekend. This three day long event in August is comprised of a variety of fun and safe activities for all ages, including a Pride Dance, a Pride Brunch, live music, drag performances, a Teen Dance, vendors and food. This event seeks to increase the visibility of the LGBT*QI+ community here in Chico, hosted in Chico's downtown plaza with an increasing attendance each year. Coming Out for Art (COFA)

This annual event hosted in Chico provides a creative outlet for the LGBT*QI+ community and allies to express their feelings and attitudes around sexuality and gender. Creative artists are given a productive and positive way to express themselves and feelings in an artistic manner. The artwork is not only viewed by a large audience, but people who submit artwork have the option of selling their pieces. Check our Facebook page to stay up to date with Coming Out For Art planning and events.

Harvest Feast

Harvest Feast is an annual potluck-style November gathering. This event occurs the Sunday before Thanksgiving and is usually hosted at the Chico Grange. It is our way of providing a safe and inclusive space for all of our community members to enjoy eachother's company and a delicious turkey meal. Please bring yourself, and any family and friends to enjoy an afternoon of good food and great company.

World AIDS Day

December 1st of every year is dedicated to raising awareness of AIDS around the world, and Stonewall proudly brings that awareness to the Chico community. Stonewall Alliances in collaboration with the CSU, Chico Office of Diversity, Butte County Public Health, Caring Choices, Congregational Church of Chico, Trinity United Methodist Church and Ampla Health, provides the community with an HIV/AIDS Awareness Fair during the morning and afternoon with booths, games and valuable information. In the evening, the Trinity United Methodist Church hosts the Candlelight Vigil & Reception in recognition of AIDS victims and survivors. Come join us December 1st in observance of this very important day.

MasQueerade

Each year, Stonewall Alliance is proud to host the MasQueerade in late Winter/ early Spring, an ages 18+ soiree with an attendance of around 300 masked and unmasked guests at the Chico Women's Club. Typical features for the night include local drag, burlesque, musical and dancing performances; a no-host bar with themed drink specials; activities such as face painting, photo booths and mask-making and, of course, live DJ dancing all night.

Trans*/ Gender Non-Conforming Week

Trans*GNC week is an outgrowth of International Transgender Day of Visibility which aims to bring attention to the Trans* community around the globe. Stonewall Alliance Center has created an entire week of events to educate, celebrate, honor and bring more awareness to trans* people and proactively ensure they are included in all aspects of the Chico community.
