Volunteer Opportunities
The Stonewall Alliance Center is run primarily by volunteers. As a valued member of our staff, you can use your talents and skills to serve the LGBTQ community of Northern California. To get involved, email board@stonewallchico.org to arrange an interview.
WHAT IS YOUR PASSION? WHAT SKILLS OR ASSISTANCE ARE YOU WILLING TO SHARE?
We need volunteers to:
- answer phones, welcome visitors to our Center and assist with Library checkout.
- research appropriate resources in answer to a client¹s request for information
- file, type, and do other clerical work
- help with mass mailings, like our quarterly CenterStone newsletter
- assist at information booths, most often at colleges and local markets
- help with Special Events, like the Hot Summer Feast and Winter White Party
- assist with the AIDS Panels of Remembrance
- write articles for the CenterStone and website
- general housekeeping and maintenance at the Center
- participate in educational panels at local colleges and other venues
