Recreation & Social Programs
Welcome to our listing of social and recreation activities for the LGBT community. Most activities are also listed on the calendar. Because some activities are held at private residences the address will not be provided on our website. You may call our Information & Referral services during operating hours or sign up for our semi-monthly emails for more detail. To receive emails from the Stonewall Alliance Center, email your name and email address to center@stonewallchico.org. Be sure to write on the subject line, “Add to email list”. Your first and last name must be included in the body of the email.

Social Activities:

Women’s Potluck occurs on the first Saturday of each month at a different private residence. Potluck begins at 6:30pm.

Men’s Dining Group, the Tuesday Knights, meet on the second Tuesday of each month at different restaurants. Men of all ages are welcome and gather at 7:00pm for a social dining experience. See the calendar for location.

Ladies Night Dances are held on the second Friday of each month from 9:00pm to 1:00am at Mariscos Ixtapa restaurant, 1196 E Lassen Ave Chico (corner of Lassen and Cohasset Rd) $10 donation at the door. Produced by Three Lesbian Productions.

Stonewall Walk (three mile recreational walk) meet on the second Sunday of the month at 9:00am in Bidwell Park One mile. Gather at parking area for Sycamore Field near picnic tables. Walk is dog-friendly.

Women’s Dining Group, the Tasty Tongues, meet on the third Tuesday of each month at different restaurants. Group gathers at 6:30pm. RSVP requested. Locations will be listed on the calendar. RSVP’s must be emailed to lhoppo@sbcglobal.net by 5pm on the Sunday prior to the dinner.

Breakfast with the Board offers community members a chance to meet Stonewall Alliance board members during a casual continental breakfast. Learn about the work of the Stonewall Alliance Center and other opportunities. Breakfast is held on the third Saturday of each month from 9:00 - 11:00am. Usually held at the Stonewall Alliance Center, please check our website calendar for location which can change based on events and activities in the community.
Greeters, Ambassadors, and Hosts needed. Several additional activities are in various stages of planning. If you might be interested in hosting a women’s potluck or serving as an ambassador/greeter please email us at board@stonewallchico.org. We are exploring a weekly bike riding activity in Bidwell Park, shopping excursions, bowling nights, and dog walks in the Park. It is crucial that we have volunteers willing to welcome and introduce participants at each activity.
