Adoption & Foster Parenting
If you are considering adoption or becoming a foster parent, there are many important considerations. Please research thoroughly and get trusted advice before making this important decision.
More than half a million children are currently in foster care in the U.S. This means they have been temporarily placed with families outside of their own. Their homes have been broken by death, divorce, drugs, alcohol, physical or sexual abuse, illness, neglect, or financial hardship. Of these children in foster care, over 14,000 children are currently living with lesbian or gay foster parents. The goal of foster parenting is to provide a safe, stable, nurturing environment. Foster parenting requires courage, empathy, patience and tenacity as well as love.
