Conner Wenzel

Conner (he/him) has been working with the Stonewall Alliance Center for many years. From facilitating multiple support groups here in the center, to assisting with the set up of Stonewall Alliance events, facilitating workshops for professionals, and being a supportive friend to many in the Chico Community, we are thrilled to have Conner as our Board Chair.

Alyssa Mccombs

Alyssa was born and raised in the town of Chico. She is a proud graduate of Butte Community College, and Chico State, and knows all the wonderful things Chico has to offer. Alyssa’s Master’s degree is in Early Childhood Education Trauma Studies from Pacific Oaks College coupled with a Bachelor’s in Sociology has given her an understanding of intersectionality and the need for self-reflection and awareness. Her work experience has focused on supporting providers working with children and families in their understanding of ‘buzzword worthy’ topics such as privilege, bias, and cultural humility. She uses Trauma theory combined with best practices in child and family services, to encourage professionalism and awareness in the field by meeting individuals where they are at and supporting their individual growth.

Mona Kazemi

Mona (she/her) is currently a program manager at a local non-profit. She has been working in the field of social services her whole adult life and holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She has experience with the Children’s Services sector, in-patient rehabilitation services, research, early care and education, as well as several years working in advocacy.

More recently, she is finding a passion for grant writing and reporting. She is also a trauma-informed care trainer. She loves her family, friends, animals, hiking, fishing, photography, bird watching, and volunteer work.

Tiffani LANG

Tiffani (she/her) and her family returned to her hometown of Chico, CA in 2012, after spending over a decade living in Canada and New Zealand. They are enjoying everything this beautiful area has to offer, most especially the people and the park!

Tiffani is working toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and serves youth and families as a Mental Health Clinician. She spent a year interning with the National Association of Social Workers, lobbying California Congressional Representatives in our state capital to cast their votes in alignment with Social Work values and ethics. She has many personal and professional connections to the LGBTQ+ community, and is honored to serve on the Stonewall Board of Directors.

Rebecca Mata

Rebecca (they/them) was born and raised in the north state. They are a graduate of Yuba College and the University of California, Davis, where they studied psychology and gender, sexuality, and women’s studies. They are working on their Master’s in Social Work at California State University, Chico. They have experience working in the research field at the center for neuroscience at UCD.

They are currently working in the mental health field as a counselor in Chico. They are passionate about creating a more equitable and diverse community, including enhancing our community’s system of care. Accordingly, they sit on the Butte County Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee. They use feminist, decolonization, and intersectionality theory as a lens to understand the world.

In their spare time, they enjoy hiking, board games, eating out with friends and family, learning new skills, and ethical/sustainable travel. They are excited and honored to serve on the board of directors at Stonewall Alliance.
